Negligible shelf-wear to edges and corners - tiny paper peel/curl without any loss and still in situ at head of rear gutter's vertical edge - else no other nicks, tears or splits present. Top +fore-edges generally bright and clean and with very minimal, miniscule and faint blemish; contents bright, tight and generally clean - a small grease(?) spot to last letter of title on the title page and bleeding though to pp11 before disappearing - else near pristine - no dog-ear reading creases to any pages' corners - would seem unread apart from my own collation. Bright,crisp,immaculate,sharp-cornered,red paper-covered boards; front board with black ink printed double-line bordered edges with capitalised, black ink printed lettering below top border, black ink printed horizontal double-line borders at the top+bottom of spine/backstrip and capitalised, black ink printed lettered title+author name at its head,a plain red rear board,a black headband and immaculate plain white endpapers.UK,12mo HB+dw/dj,facsimile edn,1st thus,11-203pp [pagiated] includes Books 1-3 comprising 24 chapters in total; plus [unpaginated] title page,a dedication with story's plot to its reverse,a Contents list/table,a verse of poetry [Every Night and every Morn . . . - William Blake,Auguries of Innocence - from which the title comes],and Books individual separator pages, and to the rear 4pp blanks. Visually, the external appearance is still exceptional, and even internally,is also in a more than acceptable condition/state of preservation and presentation. It is only the minimal faults described that prevents a slightly higher grading overall.Despite that,it really is still an exemplary example for it's brightness, cleanliness and lack of detracting faults. Although the book did not feature Miss Marple, the novel was an extension of a Miss Marple story called "The Case of the Caretaker" - this appeared in a short story collection by Agatha Christie, titled 'Miss Marple's Final Cases and Two Other Stories' - see my book IDs' rja24627 and rja862320 for examples of that collection - published in October 1979; the overall plot is the same as 'ENDLESS NIGHT',although the character names are different. It was filmed as part of the 6th series of Agatha Christie's Marple, starring Julia McKenzie. It aired on ITV on Sunday 29 December 2013.This adaptation by Kevin Elyot remains fairly faithful to the book, although with the exception of adding Miss Marple.
